Govinda’s team admits Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce

Govinda's team admits Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce; insists couple still together: 'These are all old matters'

Rumors of Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s divorce surfaced, but an insider clarified they are not separating, calling it “old issues.” Govinda’s manager denied cruelty claims and urged respect amid negativity. The couple remains focused on their children’s futures and will appear together during upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Rumours about a possible split between Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja made headlines this weekend, following reports that court documents were already filed to end their 34-year-long marriage. However, an insider has clarified that despite their ups and downs, the couple is not getting divorced and that the latest reports doing the rounds are simply “old issues”.Govinda and Sunita remain silent amid divorce speculationsNeither Govinda nor Sunita has spoken publicly about the viral rumours. However, Govinda’s manager Shashi reportedly told Hindustan Times, “Every couple has some disagreements. These are all old matters that people and the media are now trying to exploit by adding spice to them for their own benefit”.Govinda’s manager refutes cruelty allegationsWhen asked about the reports suggesting that Sunita filed for divorce in December 2024 under Section 13(1)(i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing ‘adultery, cruelty, and desertion’, the manager said that a person like Govinda would never raise a hand on anyone or shout, so he questioned where these cruelty claims were coming from.He mentioned that he has worked closely with Govinda and that he is not at all like the image being created of him now. According to the manager, these are all ‘old issues from the past’ on which the couple is still working together.Govinda’s personal life unfairly magnifiedAccording to the report, the manager also stressed that Govinda’s personal life has been unfairly magnified. He acknowledged that while the actor did not appear in court, he claimed that Sunita had also not headed to court gone to court, except for the time when she went to file the case.He added that Sunita loves Govinda very much and insisted that they are together. According to him, no divorce is going to happen, and they are focusing on their kids’ (Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja) careers and marriages, instead of this negativity.Govinda’s manager calls for respect and positivity amid rumoursThe manager ended by saying that imposing heavy legal sections and exaggerating small matters only ruins a relationship. He questioned whether people would ruin anyone’s life just for views. He also asks if anyone has ever seen Govinda say anything bad about Sunita in all these years, even when Sunita has spoken a little against Govinda in some interviews. He added that Ganesh Chaturthi is coming soon, and everyone will be seen together, inviting people to visit their home.
