Rajasthan News: Jodhpur Police Form SIT to Probe Sadhvi Prem Baisa Death as Mystery Deepens on Fourth Day Investigation

Jodhpur Police Commissioner has constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the mysterious death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa, as uncertainty continues to surround the case on its fourth day. The SIT will be led by Area ACP Chhavi Sharma and has begun its investigation with immediate effect. Earlier, the probe was being handled by the local SHO, but mounting public pressure and conflicting claims regarding the cause of death prompted senior officials to order a specialized inquiry. Authorities have not yet determined whether the death was natural, a suicide, or the result of a criminal conspiracy. The case is expected to reach a critical stage on Monday, when the viscera report is scheduled to be released. Officials said the forensic findings will play a key role in guiding the SIT’s next course of action. Sources confirmed that Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s family members are currently at their ancestral village and may be summoned to Jodhpur over the weekend or early next week for fresh statements. Police are also planning to question the medical practitioner who reportedly administered an injection to the sadhvi and may arrange a confrontation with family members if required. The SIT is examining the case from multiple angles to ensure a transparent and thorough investigation.
