Who is Mallika Prasad?

Mallika Prasad, who plays the chilling villain Amma in ‘Mardaani 3,’ has grabbed eyeballs within minutes of the trailer launch. Who is this talent? Mallika Prasad is an actor, director, educator, and theater artist. Born in Bangalore, Mallika Prasad has earned a master’s in performance making from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She later joined the National School of Drama, from where she earned a postgraduate diploma in acting.She made her debut in films with the 1999 film ‘Kanooru Heggadithi.’ She made her debut as a lead actor in 2001, with her role in the film ‘Guptagamini.’ She is a household name for the Kannada audience, and some of her works include ‘Mussanjaya Katha Prasanga,’ ‘Garva,’ and ‘Magha Mayuri.’ She has appeared in the Konkana Sen and Manoj Bajpayee series ‘The Killer Soup.’ She has worked in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.’ Mallika Prasad also helmed a short film, ‘For My Ela,’ which won the Outstanding Achievement award at the Sundarban International Film Festival and LA Indie Short Film Festival.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, ‘Mardaani 3’ is the third installment from the franchise. The upcoming film features Rani Mukerji, Janki Bodiwala, and Mallika Prasad in the lead roles. The screenplay and dialogues for the film are crafted by Aayush Gupta. Aayush Gupta, Deepak Kingrani, and Baljeet Singh Marwah have jointly crafted the story. The Rani Mukerji starrer is slated for release on January 30.
