Big B gatecrashed weddings during college for food

Amitabh Bachchan reveals he has gatecrashed weddings during his college days for food: ' Jab bhook lage shaam ko toh samajh mein nahi aata...'

Amitabh Bachchan is back with ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and the best part of watching the show is the legendary actor’s simple conversations with the contestants. People absolutely love how grounded and relatable he gets with every person. The latest episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 17’ turned into a laughter riot after Amitabh Bachchan opened up about a quirky memory from his youth—when he and his college friends would sneak into weddings just to enjoy the food. The show began with Big B greeting rollover contestant Shruti Jain from Mumbai. Shruti revealed her preference for a simple court marriage over a traditional wedding, explaining that she didn’t want to splurge on ceremonies. “Mujhe apni wedding nahi marriage acchi chahiye,” she said.Bachchan praised her outlook, adding, “I have learnt a new term these days, ‘she is very sorted’.” That’s when the ‘Sholay’ actor to share a slice of his own mischievous past. “Hum jab college mein the toh rupaya paisa toh hota nahi tha humare paas, shayad 2 rupaya pocket money milta tha.. toh jab bhook lage shaam ko toh samajh mein nahi aata tha kya karen? Toh hum log dhoondhte the ke kahin shaadi byaah toh nahi horaha… hum log aise jaate the jaise baarati jaa rahe ho andar. Toh darban humko poochta tha, toh hum peeche aarahe hain aise bol ke aage chale jaate tha…(laughs). Khaa peeke aaramse bahar aajate the. Agar aap court marriage karengi toh hum jaison ka kya hoga…”The story left the audience in splits, with Bachchan himself bursting into laughter at the memory. This isn’t the first time the megastar has reminisced about his modest beginnings on the show. Back in KBC 14, he had revealed that during his early days in Calcutta (now Kolkata), when he worked as a business executive at Bird & Company for just Rs 300–400 a month, he often survived solely on street-side panipuris. He fondly described the phuchkas near Victoria Memorial as the finest he had ever eaten. On movie front, Bachchan was last seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
