Republic Day 2025: Flight Ops Halted at Delhi Airport

Flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) have been temporarily restricted in light of Republic Day celebrations. We all know that IGIA is one of the busiest airports and over 1,300 flights operate in and out of it on a daily basis. The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) announced on Saturday that no planes would land or take off between January 19, 2025, and January 26, 2025. In addition to this, it was also said that no flights will be arriving or departing between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM.

Given the security concerns around Republic Day celebrations, the arrival and departure of certain flights will be impacted during the specified time.

In its post on X, formerly Twitter, DIAL stated, “As per the NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued for Republic Day week from 19th to 26th Jan 2025, no flights would be arriving or departing from Delhi Airport between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM IST.” Therefore, it is best that passengers cross-check their schedule with their airline concerned to know about the timings and additional details about the flight.

 

For Republic Day parade, dress rehearsals for the big day have already begun. Traffic restrictions have been imposed on Kartavyapath's Rafi Marg crossing, Janpath crossing, Mansingh Road crossing and C-Hexagon. The advisory will be in effect from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm during January 17 to 21.
