An emotional Virat Kohli was visibly overwhelmed in tears, having at last lifted the coveted trophy he had long dreamed of.  29 runs were required off the last over and Shashank Singh tried hard by knocking off 22 off them. Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck twice in the 17th over, removing Nehal Wadhera and Marcus Stoinis in quick succession to shift the momentum completely in RCB's favour.Earlier, three wickets in quick succession -Prabhsimran Singh and then followed by Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis, pulled RCB back into the game.

The Punjab Kings were given an adventurous start by Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh as the opening pair put on 43 in five overs. Josh Hazlewood then provided the breakthrough with Phil Salt taking a brilliant catch in the deep to send back the left-handed Priyansh. There we have it. RCB have posted 190/9 from their 20 overs against Punjab Kings. Virat Kohli was the top-scorer with 43, but he was overshadowed by Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh, both of whom picked up three wickets each. In the final stages of RCB’s innings, it was anyone’s game for the taking. RCB were given some much-needed lift but they’re still behind the par first-innings total in Ahmedabad. Kohli missed his fifty and Anushka Sharma's reaction says it all. On a pitch where 200-plus totals have been chased easily in the past, RCB's gears were stuck, giving Punjab Kings no reason to change their approach whatsoever.

When Jamieson picked up his second wicket, RCB lost their third for 96. At the half-way stage, RCB reached 87/2 with Kohli finally scoring just his second boundary. However, the run-scoring wasn't easy, with the PBKS bowler mixing up their deliveries to keep Kohli and Patidar guessing. The wicket of Mayank Agarwal threatened to dampen the mood for RCB but Patidar started well, smoking a six off the wicket-taker Yuzvendra Chahal.

RCB reached 59/1 after 6 overs, laying a solid foundation in the powerplay. Vijaykumar Vyshak came into the attack, but Mayank Agarwal broke free with an aerial shot, mistiming it yet still finding a boundary as Arshdeep Singh was too far to intercept. The over yielded 9 runs, with Agarwal’s aggression complementing Kohli’s steady presence, keeping RCB in a strong position as they aim for a commanding total.

RCB vs PBKS Live: Rajat Patidar had a special mention of Virat Kohli after winning the IPL trophy in his first year as RCB skipper. He asserted that 190 was a par score at the ground and credited Krunal Pandya for his match-winning spell.

“I think it is really special for me and special for Virat Kohli and all the fans who have supported for years. They deserve it. After the Qualifier 1, at that time we thought we could do this. I think 190 was a good score on this track because it was a bit slow. The way bowlers executed their plans was tremendous to watch. He's a wicket-taking bowlers. Whenever I come under pressure, I look for KP. Suyash also bowled really well throughout the season. And all the fast bowlers - Bhuvi, Yash, Hazlewood and the way Romario came in and the way he gave 2-3 overs and the breakthrough was special. For me it's a great opportunity to do captaincy under him and it was a great learning for me. As I said he deserves it more than anyone else. Virat Kohli and all the fans. Everyone who has supported - the management, support staff - the way they've supported the players was beautiful. I just want to say one line for the fans - Ee sala Cup Namdu,” Patidar said after winning IPL title.

RCB vs PBKS Live: Shreyas Iyer admitted getting dejected by the result, but he credited Krunal Pandya for his impressive bowling, which stopped them in the big-ticket finale.

“Dejected to be honest but the way our boys came up to the occasion, it wasn’t meant to be but lot of credit goes to the support staff, the owners and everyone else who’s participated in this. Considering the last game, I personally felt that 200 was a par score. They bowled brilliantly, especially Krunal, he carries a lot of experience. I believe that was the turning point. I am very proud of each and every individual who has participated in this team. There are a lot of youngsters who are playing their first season, they’ve shown a lot of fearlessness. We wouldn’t be here without them, kudos to them. We have to be here and win the trophy next year. The way we turned up to each and with a belief of saying we can win this game. Hopefully we can be here next season and play some good cricket,” Shreyas Iyer said after losing the IPL final.

I have said this before the start of this tournament as well, when you play for someone else you end up doing extraordinary things. When you play for yourself, you end up playing a bit conservatively and also feel a bit insecure, but when you want to do something for someone, something magical happens and that's what happened tonight,” Jitesh told broadcasters.

Gave each and every ounce of my energy and it's an amazing feeling,” Kohli told broadcasters.

RCB vs PBKS Live: Brilliant from Arshdeep Singh! He strikes early in the final over, removing the dangerous Romario Shepherd on the second delivery, and follows it up with the dismissal of Krunal Pandya on the fourth—turning the tide in Punjab’s favour. Jamieson is all over in this over, struggling to get his line and length right.

RCB vs PBKS Live: A couple of boundaries from Jitesh Sharma to up the ante here. It's not Arshdeep Singh's night so far. 13 runs came off his over. RCB need a 20-run over desperately here otherwise it will be tough for them to get past 210 here. RCB 145/4 in 16 overs

RCB vs PBKS Live: Azmatullah Omarzai ends Virat Kohli's struggle here with a terrific short ball. The RCB maestro failed to control it and edged it in the air as Omarzai covered decent ground to take the catch on his own ball. Kohli scored 43 off 35 balls. RCB 131/4 in 14.5 overs

RCB vs PBKS Live: Virat Kohli's strike rate is a big sign of worry for RCB as he has only managed to hit two boundaries in the innings so far. The anchor role he is playing might backfire big time for RCB in this final. He is currently striking at 123.08. RCB 103/3 in 12 overs

RCB vs PBKS Live: Kyle Jamieson gets the last laugh here as he claims the big wicket of RCB skipper Rajat Patidar with a slow yorker after getting hit for a six. RCB vs PBKS Live: A top shot in the gap from Mayank Agarwal to find a boundary comfortably at the backward point on the first ball of the over. Virat Kohli has hit just one boundary so far, and he needs to shift gears now. He can't rely on the other batter for the boundaries. He has to take calculated risks to get the momentum back. IPL 2025 Final, RCB vs PBKS Live Score, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings: Azmatullah Omarzai into the attack, and he bowled a tight over here. Virat Kohli is relying on placing the ball into the gap and not on muscling it. He is here to play the anchor role and ensure RCB post a big total here. 7 runs came off the over. RCB 46/1 in 5 overs
