The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an advisory, warning of heavy vehicular movement on certain roads in the Kharghar area, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event in the metropolis on Wednesday, January 15.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate International Society for Krishna’s Consciousness’ (ISKCON) Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple at Sector 23 in Kharghar in Navi Mumbai. He will also dedicate three frontline naval combatants — INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Vaghsheer — to the nation on their commissioning at the Naval Dockyard.
In view of PM Modi’s visit, the Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement of traffic and avoid inconvenience to the general public. The restrictions will prevail from 6:00 am Wednesday.
According to deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Tirupati Kakade, “On January 15, some roads in Kharghar will be closed to vehicles, and certain areas will be designated as ‘No Parking.'"
As per the traffic advisory, vehicles have been banned from entering the area from Ove Gaon Police Station to J Kumar Circle and Green Heritage on both sides of the road.
Kakade added that police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade vehicles and vehicles related to essential services are exempt from these restrictions.
