In a shocking incident at a Nagpur bank, a man stole a cheque left unattended on the counter, filled it out in his name, and withdrew Rs 2 lakh. The incident came to light only when the unsuspecting customer, upon discovering the missing funds, reported it to the bank.
Police investigations have revealed a carefully orchestrated plan. The accused, demonstrating astute observation, seized the opportunity to steal the cheque left on the counter. He then proceeded to fill in the required details, forging the signature. To withdraw the funds, he presented a fake identity card at the bank, successfully deceiving the staff.
This incident has raised serious concerns about the vigilance of the bank’s employees. The police are currently scrutinising the CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator.
