Ex-IAS Trainee Puja Khedkar Moves Supreme Court, Challenges Delhi HC Order Denying Bail - News18
Ex-IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar on Tuesday moved Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court’s order denying her bail in connection to the UPSC cheating case.
The matter is likely to be listed before the top court on Wednesday, January 15.
Khedkar is accused of fraudulently availing attempts in the UPSC examination beyond the permissible limit by faking her identity.
The development came after Delhi High Court in December refused to grant anticipatory bail to ex-IAS trainee Puja Khedkar, stating that steps taken by her were “a part of the large conspiracy to manipulate the system".
In September, the central government discharged Khedkar from the IAS following allegations of faking her identity to avail more attempts in the UPSC civil services examination. Khedkar was discharged after the completion of an inquiry against her.
Khedkar was accused of misrepresenting information in her application for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2022, to get reservation benefits.

The UPSC initiated a series of actions against Khedkar in July, including lodging a criminal case, for availing attempts in the civil services exam by faking her identity.
The Delhi Police registered an FIR under provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act and Right of Persons with Disabilities Act.
