Encounter rages in Sopore

Srinagar Jan 19: An anti-terror operation is underway at Zaloora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

Police said joint teams of police army and paramilitary forces had gone to bust a terrorist hideout at the Gujjerpati area of Zaloora on Sunday evening.

However, police said during the operation they came under fire from hiding terrorists. The fire was retaliated.

“Operation has been suspended due to darkness as well rugged terrain,” police said adding it will be resumed in the morning.
