Heart wellbeing is no longer an issue we can associate only with old age. We’ve all seen shocking news stories of younger people even celebrities succumbing to heart issues far too soon. This makes it clear that prevention must start early. While stress, erratic work hours, and long sedentary days are all realities of modern life, the positive side is that our everyday choices can play a very big role in how we take care of our heart.

“As a nutritionist, but also as a mother, wife, and a regular person juggling daily responsibilities, I have learned that caring for the heart doesn’t mean following extreme diets or unrealistic routines,” says Ruchi Sharma, Health Expert & Nutritionist, in collaboration with Organic India. “It’s about small, consistent habits like exercising regularly, eating balanced meals, and supplementing with natural herbs to strengthen the cardiovascular system.”

To ensure she incorporates only high-quality nutrition, Sharma adds, “I prefer using organic herbs as they retain more of their natural nutrients, absorb more essential minerals from the soil, and are grown without harmful chemicals and pesticides. I usually recommend Organic India products as they are authentically organic and crafted with whole herbs, which offer better absorption.”

Here are her top four organic whole herbs and superfoods she always comes back to:

Arjuna

“Arjuna is one of Ayurveda’s most respected herbs for heart wellbeing. In today’s world, where stress and irregular sleep may directly impact blood pressure and circulation, Arjuna can be a powerful support. It also helps in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. Traditionally, the bark was boiled into decoctions, but that isn’t practical for most of us now. That’s why I like Arjuna capsules from brands like Organic India, they make it very convenient to include this herb in a busy lifestyle,” says Sharma.

Flaxseed Oil

“Flaxseed oil is another favourite. Omega-3 fatty acids are known for lowering inflammation and keeping cholesterol levels balanced. This is why flaxseed oil works so well, especially for vegetarians,” she explains.

Cholesterol-Balancing Herbs

“Balancing cholesterol is essential for heart wellbeing. In addition to a balanced diet and the use of appropriate cooking oils, the addition of herbs like Harjor, Amalaki, and Tulsi aids in boosting antioxidants that fight free radical damage, support heart health, and maintain lipid levels. But in modern times, it may be challenging to add all these ingredients consistently. At such moments, choosing formulations containing these herbs can be a useful addition to your everyday wellness routine,” says Sharma.

Green Tea

“Green tea has been a small but powerful part of my lifestyle. In the middle of a hectic day, that pause to sip a warm cup is more than just a break. I’ve made it a family ritual, and sometimes we use Organic India’s Pomegranate Green Tea, as it has the goodness of real whole herbs that are known to reduce inflammation and support overall wellbeing,” she shares.

In conclusion, Sharma reminds us, “Overall wellbeing is not built by one big decision. It is built quietly, day by day, through the everyday choices that nourish both the body and the mind.”
