Korean actress Go Hyun-jung stole the show at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, where she flew out to New York with a minimalist makeup routine and stylish tailoring. Her elegance received as much attention as her rising popularity from SBS drama Mantis: The Killer’s Outing, MK Sports reported.

Her appearance was characterized by elegant simplicity, with almost bare skin of heavy products. By not going for dramatic contour and colour, she produced a close-up, unretouched radiance consistent with the laid-back feel of her relaxed but structured ensemble.

Softly done approach to beauty

Go’s base makeup was feather-light, with foundation applied so sheer it was almost invisible. Skipping shading and strobing, the actress let her skin’s own sheen take the spotlight. Brows and eyes were equally understated, with no mascara or tightlining on the lower lash line. Instead, she opted for clarity and transparency around the eyes.

Her lips were the sole colour whisper. There was a soft nude-pink gloss with a glassy finish that bound the palette together. The muted tones suggested a focus on maintaining balance, offering freshness without overpowering her natural attributes.

Matte hair and easy tailoring

The star complemented her fresh beauty with smooth, pin-straight hair that came in a matte finish. The look dispensed with too much shine, providing a sleek but not fussy finish.

Her own style blended structure and ease. Over a pair of easy denim, a long, loosely cut coat created a slouch-meets-structure shape, capturing contemporary travel informality. The lines were both photogenic and functional, striking a note of sophistication without pretension.

Why it resonates now

She currently plays Jung Yi-shin in Mantis: The Killer’s Outing, a suspenseful SBS thriller in which she plays both a mother and a serial killer. The drama premiered on 5 September and has been creating buzz ever since, elevating her profile with each public outing.

Style tips for women

Her style also provided lessons to women who look for effortless fashion tips. These are the four main points:

  • Prioritise skin first with super-thin foundation and natural sheen.
  • Maintain soft eye makeup, with nude under lashes and nude-pink lips.
  • Balance wearability and formality by piling ultra-tailored outerwear over languid denim.
  • Opt for matte, product-free hair for sleek polish that refuses to be fussy.
  • By embracing minimalism, Go Hyun-jung presented an airport look that was at once wearable and aspirational, reminding viewers that sometimes the boldest statements come from the subtlest of choices.
