American design icon Tommy Hilfiger announced on Thursday plans to takeover The Plaza Hotel for his Spring 2027 runway show slated for September 10.

With the New York designer already confirmed for the upcoming New York Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 edition, which spans a whopping 70 shows and presentations from September 10 – 15, the PVH Corp.-owned brand has selected the iconic Big Apple hotel in the Big Apple for its next runway show location, describing it as “an institution synonymous with New York style, culture and a distinctly New York way of living.”
“I’ve long been inspired by American icons, and there are few places that embody that spirit more than The Plaza,” said Tommy Hilfiger, which was acquired by parent company PVH Corp. in 2010.
“From Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra to The Beatles and The
Rolling Stones, generations of cultural greats have passed through its doors — and this fall we welcome in a new era of brand ambassadors and campaign stars. If those walls could talk, they would tell some of the city’s greatest stories.”
The Plaza Hotel also holds special significance for the native New Yorker, who – for more than a decade – lived with his wife Dee inside a lavish duplex penthouse within the hotel’s four walls.
The Plaze Hotel location follows Tommy Hilfiger presentations at other iconic New York City landmarks including Grand Central Terminal’s Oyster Bar and aboard the MV John F. Kennedy, previously a Staten Island Ferry.
As per the CFDA’s official New York Fashion Week schedule released earlier this week, the Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2027 show will kick off Thursday, September 10, at 2:00 PM.
