In Jacob Cohën’s wheat field

The Circolo Filologico Milanese is transformed into a wheat field for Jacob Cohën’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection. On a set conceived by director Fabio Cherstich, the models spend a day suspended between reality and dream, amid picnics, three-person conversations, handiwork, and artistic pastimes. It’s a tableau vivant that celebrates the luxury denim brand’s casual, relaxed aesthetic.

For next summer, the Jacob Cohën men’s collection features leather details and high-quality knitwear, which take centre stage once again, as in the brand’s early days. “It’s a return to our roots,” explains Jennifer Bardelle, owner and creative director of the denim brand launched in 2002 with her late husband.

Denim remains the collection’s hero product, from five-pocket jeans to chinos. But the wardrobe is complete, showcasing work executed with surgical precision- from “trouser details echoed on the upper half, or a button reminiscent of a Patek Philippe watch, right down to the perforated knit that adds lightness,” notes the designer. She has used Zegna fabric with nubuck details on blazers, shorts, and midi skirts, while the unlined suede field jacket shows off leather-on-suede detailing.

Several women’s looks appear in the presentation. “I strongly believe in the women’s line. It can establish itself in a space that is still unfilled today. She is a woman who reflects me in every way; these are pieces I would wear from morning to night. She is elegant, loves luxury but doesn’t shout about it; she wants to be sensual, without revealing too much. Today, the women’s line accounts for just 10% of revenue, but I want to bring it back to 30%,” says the entrepreneur.

The focus on the US continues. “We’ll be opening on Madison Avenue in New York soon. And last week we launched a pop-up in Southampton, which will remain open until October. It helps us build brand awareness in the local market,” she continues.

The range is also expanding. Following the denim-and-leather paddle case, a ping-pong bat case is now arriving in stores, along with the first pet leads. “A harness for smaller dogs and a collar with our bandanas for larger ones,” concludes Jennifer Bardelle, who notes: “I have three dogs and they wear Jacob Cohën.”
