Givenchy, Strathberry, Jil sander, Dior launch key new bags

New bags are a big investment for labels. Like new fragrances, they have the kind of staying power that seasonal collections don’t have and numerous big and small names are unveiling key additions at the moment.

Givenchy has just launched the Voyou Bucket Bag as part of the overall Voyou collection. Voyou takes its name from French slang for a mischief-maker and the company said it “embodies a sense of impertinence rooted in a distinctive attitude and singular spirit”.

The new bucket version is distinguished by the leather drawstring closure that cinches its shape, “softly structuring the clean geometry of a versatile biker-inspired bucket style”.

It’s made in smooth, shiny calf leather with a fine grain and glossy finish and can be carried as a top handle plus adjustable over-the-shoulder and crossbody straps.

It’s available in ivory, light pink, chocolate or black leather with gold-finish hardware, and in cobalt blue leather with silver-finish hardware priced at €1,750.

The Strathberry Corda

Meanwhile British accessories specialist Strathberry has launched the Corda, a sculptural new silhouette “inspired by mid-century modernist design principles and the interplay between tension and form”. We’re told the Corda “reimagines how softness and strength can coexist within a single piece”.

It’s made from supple leather and is “shaped through delicate cord detailing that draws the material inward, creating a sense of movement and intention”. This tension is anchored by Strathberry’s signature Music Bar hardware, with its polished metal “providing contrast, balance, and a distinct point of structure”. The hero piece retails at £495.

Meanwhile, a more structured introduction comes from Jil sander, the new leather Linea Bag is an East-West style with central piping and a convex profile that “embody its structural geometry”. It retails at £1,490.

Finally, from Dior there’s a man-bag, the Archie, the most ultra-luxury-focused of this new quartet with a retail price of £3,200. Created by Jonathan Anderson for the Fall 2026 collection, it’s “distinguished by its supple, generous silhouette, which is subtly architectural”.

Its unique grained leather design features an adjustable arched handle – its “core identity” and clearly the source of its name – adorned with a ‘CD’ buckle.

It has a spacious interior compartment, several pockets and a shoulder strap that can be worn in different ways and comes in four colours.
