The Roman venue where Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first Fendi Couture collection for Fall/Winter 2026-2027 will be shown on the evening of Thursday, July 9, has been announced: the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.

This state museum is home to the largest and most comprehensive collection of Italian and international art from the 19th century to the present day, with almost 20,000 works spanning from Neoclassicism to the historic avant-gardes. The institution was founded in 1883 (initially at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni) and, since 1915, has been housed in the monumental Palazzo delle Belle Arti, near Villa Borghese.
For the July event, the show will unveil Chiuri’s debut collection for Fendi Couture and will coincide with the opening of a special public exhibition dedicated to the historic bond between Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld.
The exhibition “After, Un Percorso di Lavoro. Fendi / Karl Lagerfeld 1985” will be open to the public from July 10 to October 25, 2026, and its title is a clear and deliberate historical reference: it echoes the celebrated original archival exhibition held at the National Gallery in 1985, celebrating the long-standing and landmark collaboration between the Roman maison and the world-renowned designer.
