Ananya Panday’s latest appearance captured the very essence of contemporary couture. The actor stepped out in a metallic rose gown from Krésha Bajaj’s newest collection, The Archive of Hidden Things, which had recently debuted at Dubai Fashion Week. Her look originated from the chapter Liberation, a segment in the collection that explored freedom, openness, and ease of movement – ideas that were effortlessly woven into her ensemble.
Styled by Priyanka Kapadia Badani, Ananya Panday’s look for the Filmfare Glamour And Style Awards was a masterclass in balance: structured yet fluid, daring yet refined. The soft rose base had been hand-embellished with delicate micro-beads, while larger beads highlighted the slender straps, adding a subtle shimmer to the entire silhouette. The gown skimmed her frame and flared gently at the hem, creating a sleek hourglass effect without losing its graceful flow.

The most striking feature of the design lay in its side panels. Sheer and transparent, these panels extended from the underarm to just above the knee, threaded with crisscrossing fabric cords that sculpted precise cut-outs. Far from being a mere trend-driven detail, the cut-outs were central to the gown’s architecture. They revealed skin with intention, lending the gown an air of sensuality while maintaining elegance. Cut-outs have long been a recurring motif in fashion, and in Ananya’s look, they were not just an accent but a defining element of the structure, contrasting beautifully with the dense beadwork.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu had also worn a similar look by the designer at the Vogue Beauty Awards which was held in May. Unlike Ananya’s shimmering bodice, Samantha’s gown was in a lovely brown hue.
Krésha Bajaj, celebrated for reinventing traditional Indian craftsmanship, once again proved her mastery. Her reinterpretations of age-old techniques like zardozi, aari, and micro-beading have consistently set her apart, giving heritage craft a modern vocabulary. The Archive of Hidden Things, her first-ever prêt line, was divided into three chapters: Revelation, Obsession, and Liberation. Ananya embodied the last, her gown reflecting the confident lines, intricate textures, and contemporary glamour that defined the chapter’s spirit.
As Krésha made her international debut with this collection at Dubai Fashion Week, the vision was clear: each of the 27 looks told a story. With this look, Ananya not only turned heads but also became a living embodiment of Krésha’s storytelling through couture.
