Mumbai witnessed an unforgettable spectacle when L’Oréal Professionnel brought together 422 hairstylists and 422 models under one roof to celebrate hair artistry like never before. On September 17, 2025, the brand set a Guinness World Records title for ‘Most people colouring hair’, transforming NESCO’s sprawling 1 lakh sq ft venue into India’s largest salon for a day.

This record-setting event wasn’t just about numbers. It was about spotlighting the evolving identity of hairdressing in India. With the launch of Iconic Browns, the colour trend of the year, the celebration showcased artistry, education, and the creative spirit of hairstylists who are increasingly becoming digital-first creators.

The event saw the presence of Global Colour Ambassador Min Kim and her muse, actress Kritika Kamra, whose glossy Iconic Brown transformation became a highlight of the event. Speaking about the milestone, Zeenia Bastani, Director, Professional Products Division, L’Oréal India, said: “What L’Oréal Professionnel India achieved today showcases our capability to set global benchmarks and lead on the world stage. We witnessed a mega masterclass by our Global Colour Ambassador, Min Kim, 422 Iconic Brown hair transformations under one roof, an electrifying passion for hairdressing and an overwhelming love for L’Oréal Professionnel.”

From intensive pre-event masterclasses to the record-setting transformations, the spotlight remained firmly on the hairstylists. The event reinforced the growing influence of professionals in shaping hair trends both inside salons and on digital platforms.

Mathilde Barthélemy-Vigier, General Manager, L’Oréal Professionnel India, noted: “By bringing together 422 hairstylists in one record-setting moment, we’re not just celebrating hair colour artistry, we’re reinforcing the growing demand for premium hair colour salon services and the influence professionals have in shaping hair trends.”

The emphasis on education also stood out. Priya Kasthuri Rangan, Head of Education, L’Oréal Professionnel India, added: “Through this platform, we’ve given hairstylists an opportunity not only to upskill their craft but also to showcase their hairdressing expertise. We are very proud to create this elite community of hairdressers who have shown passion, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the program.”

For Min Kim, who led an exclusive masterclass and transformed Kritika Kamra’s look on stage, the day reflected the power of shared artistry. “Browns are being redefined globally through techniques like glossing, balayage, and tonal layering, and it was inspiring to see Indian hairstylists embrace this at scale,” she said.

The event also created a digital ripple, generating over 1,000 social mentions in a single day. For participants, it was more than a record. It was a celebration of artistry, education, and community that cemented India’s place on the global hairdressing map.
