Upendra Kushwaha Meets Amit Shah in Delhi as NDA Explores Seat Adjustment Formula

Amid ongoing dissatisfaction over seat allocations within the NDA for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Upendra Kushwaha arrived in Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Kushwaha, reportedly unhappy with the six seats allotted to his party and the reassignment of the Mahua seat to Chirag Paswan, is seeking resolution.Accompanying him is Union Minister Nityanand Rai, and the meeting is expected to address several sensitive points: whether the Mahua seat can be restored to Kushwaha, alternative seat allocations if Mahua remains with Chirag, and potential assurances regarding Kushwaha’s Rajya Sabha term renewal next year. NDA leaders are reportedly considering multiple formulas, including transferring a seat from BJP’s quota or negotiating adjustments among allies to placate Kushwaha, though the readiness of Chirag Paswan’s faction to cooperate remains uncertain. The meeting is seen as a pivotal moment to finalize seat-sharing arrangements, ensure alliance unity, and officially endorse Nitish Kumar as NDA’s Chief Ministerial candidate, while keeping the coalition intact amid visible internal tensions.
