A fresh controversy has erupted in Parliament after the Parliamentary Affairs Minister released a video allegedly showing a ruckus inside the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chamber. The minister claimed that 20 to 25 Opposition MPs misbehaved during the incident and created an unprecedented situation inside the Speaker’s room. According to the government, the video supports their allegation that certain Members of Parliament entered the chamber during the uproar in the House and acted inappropriately. The ruling side has termed the incident a serious breach of parliamentary decorum. However, the Congress party has strongly denied the accusations, stating that no disrespect or insult was directed at the Speaker. The party maintained that its MPs merely went to present their concerns and put forward their point of view. Congress leaders have accused the government of exaggerating the matter and diverting attention from substantive issues.
