Punjab: Kabaddi Player Rana Balachoria Shot Dead During Tournament in Mohali

Panic spread in Punjab’s Mohali after a kabaddi player was shot dead during a live tournament in the Suhana area. The victim has been identified as Kaver Digvijay Singh, also known as Rana Balachoria, a kabaddi player and promoter. According to police, attackers arrived on a motorcycle or car and opened fire during the match, hitting Balachoria multiple times. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The Bambiha gang has claimed responsibility on social media, alleging his links to rival gangs, a claim police are investigating. The incident occurred in an open ground near a private school with hundreds of spectators present. The killing has raised serious concerns over law and order in Punjab, especially repeated gang-related attacks in recent weeks.
