Political tensions escalated in Uttar Pradesh as opposition parties staged strong protests against the Yogi Adityanath-led government during the ongoing Budget Session of the UP Assembly. Samajwadi Party legislators led the demonstration outside the Assembly premises, with Congress MLAs joining the protest in a show of opposition unity. Holding placards and raising slogans, leaders accused the state government of failing on issues such as law and order, unemployment, inflation, corruption, and crimes against women and marginalized communities. The protests were not limited to outside the Assembly, as disruptions were also witnessed inside the House during the Governor’s address. Opposition members continued sloganeering and interruptions, forcing repeated disruptions in proceedings. Leaders alleged that the government was avoiding meaningful debate by limiting the duration of the Budget Session and not allowing detailed discussions on public issues. Speaking to the media, opposition leaders said they would raise concerns related to farmers, youth, traders, laborers, teachers, and social justice both inside and outside the House. They accused the government of suppressing dissent and avoiding accountability. Responding to the protests, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the government is ready for discussion on all issues and urged the opposition to participate constructively rather than resorting to disruptions. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the state government, alleging widespread corruption and administrative failures. The political confrontation signals a stormy Budget Session ahead in Uttar Pradesh.
