Breaking News: Opposition Prepares No-Confidence Motion Against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

In a significant political escalation, the opposition in the Lok Sabha is preparing to table a no-confidence motion against Speaker Om Birla. Sources indicate the move comes amid claims that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was repeatedly denied permission to speak during the ongoing Budget session. Senior opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sougata Roy of TMC, and Ram Gopal Yadav, convened to coordinate their strategy. The opposition has emphasized that if Rahul Gandhi is blocked from addressing the House, they will escalate disruptions and bring the matter to the floor through the motion. While the government enjoys a clear majority in the Lok Sabha, making the motion unlikely to succeed, the situation has intensified the standoff between ruling and opposition parties. Speaker Om Birla has maintained that all proceedings will follow parliamentary rules, and members will be allowed to speak in their allotted slots. The opposition, however, insists on immediate discussion regarding suspended MPs, key policy issues, and broader governance concerns. The Budget session continues under heightened tension, with disruptions dominating proceedings. Political analysts say this development reflects growing polarization in Parliament, and the coming days are likely to witness continued clashes as parties assert their respective positions.
