Greater Noida Dowry Death Case: Married Woman Dies After Alleged Fall From Roof, Family Alleges Murder

In Greater Noida’s Ecotech-3 area (Jalpura), a married woman allegedly died after falling from the roof, with her family accusing the in-laws of dowry harassment and murder. The woman was married just 14 months ago on 11 December 2024, and her family claims she was continuously harassed for dowry demands, including a luxury car (Fortuner), ₹50 lakh, and ₹1 crore in total. According to the father, the daughter had been mentally and physically harassed by her husband and in-laws, and he had visited their home multiple times to resolve the issue. On the day of the incident, he was told she had “fallen from the roof,” but when the family reached Sharda Hospital, she was declared dead. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and arrested the husband and father-in-law. While the police have registered a case of suicide, the victim’s family alleges it is a murder staged as suicide due to dowry pressure. They are demanding strict punishment for the accused and a fair investigation.
