A major industrial accident has triggered panic in Kolkata’s Taratala area after the roof of an under-construction warehouse suddenly collapsed on Transport Road, trapping several workers beneath the debris. Authorities fear that between 50 and 60 laborers may have been present at the site when the structure gave way during working hours. According to preliminary information, workers were carrying out routine construction activities when a large section of the warehouse roof collapsed without warning, leading to scenes of chaos and desperation. Rescue teams rushed to the location shortly after the incident, while emergency services launched a large-scale operation to search for survivors. Officials confirmed that at least four workers have been rescued so far and shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
