Breaking News: Mamata Banerjee Raises Security Concerns at Bengal Bhawan, Delhi

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Bengal Bhawan in Delhi, drawing attention to the security arrangements outside the building. She criticized the Delhi Police and paramilitary deployment, calling it excessive and questioning why ordinary citizens, especially families of BLOs who died during SIR procedures, were treated this way. Mamata alleged that the BJP is misusing central agencies as political tools, targeting people and intimidating families, while ordinary citizens are denied protection. She contrasted this with the red-carpet reception given to BJP leaders, calling Delhi a “landlord state” where common people face hardships. During her visit, Mamata met personally with 50 affected families, toured the security setup, and highlighted how citizens are “tortured” symbolically by overbearing measures. She clarified that while she respects institutions like the Delhi Police, she will continue to raise her voice against political misuse of law enforcement agencies. Mamata also announced that a 15-member TMC delegation will meet the Election Commission at 4:00 PM to formally discuss these concerns. She was accompanied by her nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. The visit emphasized the CM’s commitment to supporting affected families and protesting perceived institutional bias against her state and party members.
