A massive fire erupted in a residential slum area of Kolkata, reducing five to six houses to ashes. Thick smoke and flames created panic-like conditions in the locality. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and are continuously working to bring the blaze under control using water jets and other measures. West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose also reached the site to monitor the situation closely. The immediate priority remains the safe evacuation of residents and preventing further damage. Although the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, an investigation will be conducted once the situation is fully under control. The incident has caused heavy property loss, with household belongings completely destroyed.
