A late-night incident of violence was reported at an HPCL petrol pump in Kolkata’s Tollygunge area, where a group of 30–40 individuals allegedly attacked and created chaos. The petrol pump owner and manager have accused members linked to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of vandalism, claiming the attackers were intoxicated and attempted to forcibly remove an official fuel tanker to control the premises. They also alleged threats and intimidation during the incident. This incident comes amid ongoing post-election tensions in West Bengal, with both BJP and TMC blaming each other for the unrest. While BJP claims TMC supporters are disguising themselves to create disturbances, TMC has countered with accusations against BJP. The situation raises serious concerns about law and order and political violence in the state.
