The public fight between Candace Owens and Turning Point USA has taken another turn after both sides clashed over a Daily Mail report linked to the 2025 assassination of Charlie Kirk. On July 22, TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said the organization never received a request for comment before the story was published and questioned whether the article accurately reflected Erika Kirk’s views. Owens pushed back, shared screenshots that she said showed Daily Mail had contacted her team before publication, and challenged Kolvet to seek legal action if he believed the report contained fabricated quotes. The exchange has become the latest chapter in their long-running dispute over Owens’ ongoing coverage of Charlie Kirk’s death.

Candace Owens releases screenshots after Andrew Kolvet questions Daily Mail report

The latest argument began when Andrew Kolvet claimed TPUSA had not received any request for comment from Daily Mail before its story was published. He wrote, “We never received any request for comment. We’re told they attempted to send one, but we can’t find it. Strange given that every other outlet on the planet seems to know how to reach us, including the Daily Mail.” Kolvet also argued that the article did not reflect Erika Kirk’s way of speaking and said the newspaper later made major corrections. He added, “Unfortunate to see the Daily Mail doing the bidding of Candace Owens, who of course used it as rage bait on her show because she has no actual evidence to discuss as she continues her very lucrative ‘investigation.’ Maybe she’s the anonymous source?”Owens responded by saying she doubted Kolvet’s version of events and urged him to demand a correction if it was true. She wrote, “If this is true, and I HIGHLY doubt it is, given its striking similarity to the piece that was being written and spearheaded by Erika’s family friend Tracy Martin for US Magazine, then you should demand a public response and retraction from the Daily Mail.”A short time later, Owens posted screenshots that she said proved her team had received a request for comment before the article went live. She added, “Here you go @AndrewKolvet, please keep us updated on this. We received notice hours before the piece went out, seeking comment.”

Andrew Kolvet and Candace Owens continue public dispute over Erika Kirk story

The back-and-forth did not stop there. Kolvet questioned why Owens had not publicly shared the emails before the article was published. He wrote, “Riddle me this, Candace… We all know what you do when an article is coming out you don’t like. You publish the emails, attack the reporter, and throw a fit on social media. Why didn’t you do that this time? Is it because you were in on the plan? Just asking questions.”Owens rejected the accusation and pointed out that she had already discussed the report on her show. She replied, “I literally did an entire episode responding to this article, genius. Also please stop the ‘just asking questions’ cringe. 😂 You are cornered here. If you are stating that the journalist is fictionalizing quotes from Erika’s family friends, then you should get legal involved. This is an easy retraction to achieve. Quite literally this reporter would lose his job. Are you working on that?”Owens also argued that Daily Mail had corrected only what she described as a typo involving “family friend” and “family member,” not withdrawn the article itself. She maintained that if the quotes were truly invented, TPUSA should pursue a defamation case. As of now, neither side has backed down, and the dispute remains active. Go to Source
