The Supreme Court is set to hear the alleged donation theft case linked to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya once again today. Ahead of the hearing, the Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the allegations of misappropriation of temple offerings, has submitted a sealed status report to the apex court. The report was filed in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directive issued during the previous hearing, when it sought an update on the progress of the investigation. The court is expected to issue further directions after reviewing the report. Meanwhile, the Nirmohi Akhara has also approached the Supreme Court in connection with the matter. The Akhara has sought the reconstitution of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and has demanded greater representation within the trust. The outcome of today’s hearing could influence both the ongoing investigation and the governance structure of the temple trust.
