ALERT: NEET Re-Exam Under Tight Watch; Mumbai Cancels Mega Block, BSF Secures Rajasthan Centres

The nationwide NEET re-examination is being conducted under unprecedented security arrangements as authorities work to ensure a transparent and disruption-free process following the controversy surrounding the earlier examination. Multiple states have intensified monitoring, deployed security personnel, and introduced strict protocols to safeguard the integrity of the test. In a major relief for candidates in Mumbai, local railway services are operating as scheduled, with the customary Sunday mega maintenance block suspended to facilitate smooth travel for students heading to examination centers. Officials said the decision was taken to prevent delays and ensure candidates reach their venues on time. Across examination centers, enhanced security measures include CCTV surveillance, biometric verification, frisking, restricted entry zones, and the deployment of police and paramilitary forces. Candidates have been prohibited from carrying electronic devices and other unauthorized materials into examination halls. In Lucknow and several other cities, parents and students expressed hope that the examination would proceed fairly and without any irregularities. Many candidates acknowledged improved arrangements compared to the previous examination cycle while emphasizing the importance of maintaining transparency throughout the process. Meanwhile, Rajasthan has witnessed particularly stringent arrangements, with Border Security Force personnel assisting in the secure transportation of question papers to examination centers in Sikar. Authorities have established multiple layers of security to eliminate any possibility of malpractice or unauthorized access. With lakhs of aspirants appearing for the medical entrance examination, today’s test is being viewed not only as an assessment of students but also as a crucial test of the examination system’s credibility. The focus remains on restoring trust
