What really happened in the final minutes of the Trainwreck-Ricoy Rust event? Fans enraged over Kick co-owner’s controversial decision

Kick co-owner Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam is currently facing a lot of scrutiny and criticism following his latest Rust event on Kick, where he is accused of manipulating the outcome of the event in its last 30 minutes. The major backlash stems from Trainwreck giving an unjustified and biased last-minute win to Ricoy over the deserved Oilrats, who were set to secure the victory as the number 1 streamer on the platform. The event was reportedly rigged from the beginning, as information about a prior alliance between Ricoy and Trainwreck was revealed by Redditors who saw the live event. Additionally, instances of backstabbing and favouritism within the game led to fans being frustrated over the event and its overall integrity.

Why the Finale Triggered Community Outrage and Questions

According to Reddit user , Trainwreck and Ricoy’s team had reportedly allied at the start of the game, but the latter had also made a plan of their own to backstab Trainwreck by raiding his vault. There was also a mid-tournament rule change where Trainwreck’s favoured team to win, which was from Spain, got dumped, apparently due to biased moderating (as perceived by the Kick co-owner).Despite backstabbing him, Trainwreck made a controversial move, as he reportedly seemed to encourage the act, which left fans frustrated. As referenced by another Reddit user, Dry_Archer_500, there were also talks of money being exchanged between the two of about 10k, which fueled speculations of rigging and predetermined outcomes.Even after a rust tribunal where both Oilrats and Ricoy were to be deemed sheared winners, a last-minute corporate decision led to the latter becoming the sole winner. This led to fans and people who watch the stream questioning the integrity of Kick’s streams and whether it was worth the price of admission to watch them.Trainwreck has been a regular Twitch streamer since 2015, posting gaming and IRL content. He also used Stake, hosting gambling sessions through Twitch. However, the company later banned Stake and other gambling sites, which led to his current position at Kick. Also read: “Finally an award that makes sense”: TrainwrecksTV praises xQc on his streamer of the decade win
