A 20-year-old Indian-origin woman was allegedly raped in the UK’s West Midlands in what police believe was a “racially aggravated” attack carried out because of her ethnic identity.Authorities have launched a manhunt for a white male suspect.Officers were called to the Park Hall area on Saturday evening after a distressed woman was found in the street. Initial investigations revealed that she had been assaulted and raped inside a nearby property by a man she did not know.

Police have released CCTV footage of the suspect, described as a white male in his 30s, with short hair and wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack.“This was an absolutely appalling attack on a young woman, and we are doing absolutely everything we can to arrest the person responsible,” said detective superintendent Ronan Tyrer, who is leading the investigation.“While we are following multiple lines of enquiry right now, it’s vital that we get to hear from anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time,” he added, urging people with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact the police. The incident is being treated as racially aggravated, though the force has clarified that it is not being linked to any other ongoing investigations. Also read – British Sikh woman raped in UK: Man, woman arrested again after bail; case classified as racially motivatedLocal community groups have said the victim is of Punjabi heritage, expressing concern over back-to-back hate-motivated sexual assaults.
