“One more fight, Charlie”: Candace Owens sends defiant message as Charlie Kirk family pleads for privacy at Tyler Robinson hearing

Tyler Robinson’s preliminary hearing in the Charlie Kirk murder case began under heavy security, with the court deciding whether there is enough evidence for a trial. Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika and his parents asked for privacy, calling the proceedings a painful reminder of their loss. Meanwhile, Candace Owens posted, “One more fight, Charlie. I don’t fear these demons. We will win,” taking a far more defiant public stance as the case continues.

The preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk, began under heightened security as two very different public responses emerged from those closest to the late conservative activist. While Kirk’s family appealed for privacy as the legal process unfolds, commentator Candace Owens posted a defiant message, promising to continue what she described as Kirk’s fight. The hearing will determine whether prosecutors have presented enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.

Charlie Kirk family asks for privacy as Tyler Robinson hearing gets underway

The five-day preliminary hearing opened inside a tightly secured courtroom with limited public access and a significant law enforcement presence due to the case’s national attention. The hearing is not intended to decide Tyler Robinson’s guilt or innocence. Instead, the judge will determine whether prosecutors have established probable cause for the case to move forward. Ahead of testimony, Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, issued a statement on behalf of the family, explaining the emotional toll of returning to court.”Every court proceeding serves as a painful reminder of his death and the loss that has irrevocably impacted our lives and the lives of his children.” She confirmed that she and Charlie Kirk’s parents would attend the proceedings while avoiding further public comment.”Out of respect for the judicial process, we will not be commenting further at this time. We ask for continued privacy.”Their statement reflected a desire to let the judicial process continue without additional public debate while they continue grieving their loss.

Candace Owens responds as Tyler Robinson case moves forward

Candace Owens, a longtime political ally of Charlie Kirk, responded separately with a markedly different message. Rather than focusing on privacy, Owens framed the court proceedings as part of a broader ideological struggle. She wrote on X:”One more fight, Charlie. I don’t fear these demons. We will win.”Her post quickly gained attention online, highlighting the contrast between the Kirk family’s restrained approach and Owens’ public show of defiance.Meanwhile, prosecutors continue to pursue multiple charges against Robinson, including first-degree murder. According to court filings, investigators allege the attack was premeditated and have cited evidence that includes an alleged handwritten note, text messages and the recovery of a Mauser 98 bolt-action rifle. Robinson has not entered a guilty plea, and the allegations remain unproven as the legal process continues.Lawyers have said the standard for a preliminary hearing is much lower than for trial. Former prosecutor Mark Kouris pointed out that prosecutors don’t have to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, just probable cause. Judge Graf will decide whether the evidence presented is enough to allow the case to move forward to a full jury trial where the allegations will be evaluated under the much higher criminal standard.
