According to the surgeon, the goal was to make the nostrils appear closer in size while moving toward what many people consider a traditional beauty standard. “Nobody on earth is perfectly symmetrical. Everybody is slightly asymmetrical. Nostrils are like sisters or brothers, they’re not identical twins. Your left nostril is slightly wider than your right nostril. Both of them are just slightly wide by beauty standards,” Dr. Michael Salzhauer said.“What I’m going to do this morning is take in a tiny bit of the nostril over here, a little more on this side than that side. Just a tiny bit, to bring them closer together and get us as close as we can to what people would consider the perfect beauty standard.”
