It was not racist: New Zealand woman says police came to her house for her 'Welcome to New India' FB post

New Zealand woman says cops came looking for her because of her ‘Welcome to New India’ FB post.

Renee-Rose Schwenke, a New Zealand woman, has claimed that police came knocking on her door, accusing her of a racist attitude after she posted a photo on Facebook with a caption reading: ‘Welcome to New India’. It was a photo of herself with two men of Indian appearance in the background. But the post was a jibe at Prime Minister Christopher Luxon who recently signed a Free Trade Agreement with India. “Welcome to New India thanks to Luxsingh”, the post read. TheSchwenke said the Facebook post, which she did not deem as racist, was flooded with abusive comments from Indians and eventually the post got reported to the police who hunted her down.

“I had the police call me regarding my ‘racist’ post. It wasn’t threatening or inciting violence. I was called into the police station for a senior sergeant to tell me my post was unkind and ‘racist’, unwelcoming to the Indian community,” she wrote.“He had to walk away from us twice because he was being led by his own personal views and couldn’t handle a bit of push back and truth, instead of behaving as a professional. This is what happens when you live under a soft tyranny of the offended peoples. I won’t silence my views to accommodate your feelings.”The woman also shared a recording of a woman cop calling her mother, looking for her in connection with her social media post. The cop said they were planning to come to her house “regarding some posts that she’s been putting online that people have taken not that great, basically, so they’ve made some complaints to police”.”I get deaths threats on the regular for my views and beliefs, I get called every name under the sun racist, transphobic, Islamophobic but somehow I’m in the wrong. This world is upside downGood is now evil and evil is now good,” the woman doubled down.Schwenke reshared her post and said: “If you are offended by this, I’m not Singhling you out. It’s nothing personal, not everysingh is about you. No to mass immigration invasion!”
