Brampton police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a 27-year-old man, Manpreet Singh who is believed to have killed 27-year-old Amanpreet Saini of North York. Saini’s body was found at a park in Lincoln, Ontario, earlier this week. Police believe Manpreet had already fled the country when the body was found on Tuesday. According to Canadian media reports, Saini’s body was found with traumatic injuries at Charles Daley Park, near North Service Road and Highway 406. Police said there was no threat to public safety and it was probably a targeted attack but did not clarify the relationship between Saini and Manpreet. “This is believed to have been a targeted attack with no ongoing threat to public safety,” police said.Singh is wanted for second-degree murder. Police said they have information to believe that he fled the country after Saini’s body was discovered.
‘Another disgusting Singh’
The incident comes as Indian communities are facing flak in both the US and Canada. “Manpreet Singh of Brampton is wanted in the murder of a woman who’s body was found in a Niagara Region park. Another vile foreigner, Another disgusting Singh, Another woman dead,” one wrote. Many mocked the Canadian media reports referring to him as a ‘Brampton man’ while it is clear that he is an Indian man.Months ago, the Delta Police in Canada renewed a call for help finding another Singh, Gurkirat Singh, on a warrant for sexual assault. He was accused of sexually assaulting a child in 2024. The police released his description that he is 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, but police said it was possible that he altered his appearance to evade arrest.
