'If you have a womb, you are a...': Elon Musk's comments on women's bodies divide the internet

Elon Musk

Ex-DOGE lead Elon Musk took the internet by storm when he made a controversial claim on gender, bringing women’s bodies into question. The Tesla CEO posted on X: “If you have a womb, you are a woman. Otherwise, you are not.” This comment divided the internet, with progressives and pro LGBTQ+ audience going against Musk, while the other end supported Musk for stating a “fact.”

Trump’s SHOCK Update on Elon Musk; Reveals PRIVATE Details In Front Of Cabinet | ‘BIG BEAUTIFUL…’

Social media response

One user said: “Can’t believe we are now in an era to where you had to state the obvious !! Another said: “Everyone everywhere for all of human history knew this until 20 minutes ago, and now we have to pretend like this is a controversial statement to avoid offending gender studies majors.” “The richest man in the world explaining basic biology, in a statement that’s somehow disputed and controversial even among so called “educated” people, should be pinned on the timeline of humanity,” added another. Another user added: “As someone who almost passed chemistry in high school, I can confirm this is always true”However, the responses were not all in agreement with Musk. Some pointed out the technicalities that go into human bodies in the times of modern medial science. A user said: “So if a woman has a hysterectomy she isn’t a woman anymore?” Another said: “Actually, this is not true, because there are women with MRKH syndrome (Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser syndrome), in which the uterus is absent or underdeveloped from birth.” “You keep trying and failing to make this point. Maybe stick with counting your cash and leave the thinking to others? This isn’t true. Ask anyone who’s had a hysterectomy,” said another user.

What is a hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure in which a woman’s uterus is removed. It may be performed for medical reasons such as uterine fibroids, heavy bleeding, cancer, endometriosis, or chronic pain. Depending on the case, the surgery can also involve removing the cervix, ovaries, or fallopian tubes. After a hysterectomy, a woman can no longer become pregnant, and the procedure may be done through the abdomen, vagina, or using minimally invasive techniques. Go to Source
