Donald Trump stirred up a row after he addressed the recent Brown University shooting in Rhode Island that killed 2. The POTUS said that the institution is one of the greatest schools in the world. The MAGA chief then proceeded to say that “things can happen” and urged prayers for the remaining 9 that were injured. The president’s comments were not taken lightly. Social media slammed Trump for not showing “empathy” and rather being a “sociopath” regarding such a heinous crime. Earlier in a post on Truth Social, Trump had said: “I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. The suspect is in custody. God bless the victims and the families of the victims!”Furthermore, Trump got into more trouble when he claimed that the suspect was in custody even before the shooter was caught. He deleted the post and later said: “The Brown University Police reversed their previous statement — The suspect is NOT in custody.”
Social media response:
- Charlie Kirk got shot and we did a month-long pep rally. But for these folks it’s “things can happen.”
- He can’t even offer condolences without sounding like a complete sociopath. Absolutely zero empathy
- Donald Trump on yet another mass shooting: ‘S**t happens! I’m off to play golf, now. Bye, suckers!’
- “But on a brighter note, we’re making great progress on the ballroom!” — Trump, probably.
- The man has zero soul. And if someone says he paid his respects….yes I guess and it sounded like it was one of the hardest things that he has ever had to say. It’s unbelievable how he can’t show any empathy.
- Well at least he is consistent. He said the same thing when Charlie Kirk was shot. Oh, wait…..
