World aware of nexus between Pakistan military, ultras: MEA

MEA briefing

NEW DELHI: The world is aware of the nexus between terrorists and the Pakistani state and military, said the govt on Friday. The MEA was responding to reports about a Jaish-e-Mohammed commander admitting that the Pakistan army chief, Asim Munir, had ordered senior army officers to attend the funeral of terrorists killed in India’s Operation Sindoor.”Such statements make it even more glaring,” said the spokesperson. The official also again strongly ruled out mediation by any third country on India-Pakistan issues. “On bilateral issues between India and Pakistan, there is no role for a third party. So, I want to reiterate and make it absolutely clear – there is absolutely no role for third-party mediation in India-Pakistan issues,” he said. The official was responding to the recent interview of Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar in which he said the US had proposed a ceasefire along with discussions in a third country, and India was not ready for it.Responding to reports that Jaish-e-Muhammed and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in Pakistan were relocating to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after Operation Sindoor, the official urged the international community to jointly fight terrorism. “We all have to fight cross-border terrorism. We call upon the world to intensify our efforts to deal with terrorism,” he said.
