Actor-model Harshil Kalia, 30, dies in tragic Jaipur car crash; vehicle flips after hitting divider

Actor and model Harshil Kalia died on Monday night after her car lost control and crashed into a divider in Jaipur. She was 30. The accident took place on Shipra Path Road around 11:30 pm, when Kalia was returning home from work. According to reports, her vehicle rammed into a divider and overturned. CCTV footage of the incident shows the car flipping onto its left side after the impact.

Severe head injuries prove fatal

Local residents rushed to the spot, helped turn the vehicle upright and rescued Kalia. She was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared her dead due to severe head injuries.Police officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, including whether the vehicle was speeding or if another vehicle attempted to overtake her.A post-mortem examination has been conducted, and the body has been handed over to her family.

From web series to modelling: A promising career cut short

Harshil Kalia had been steadily building her career across acting, anchoring and modelling. She was seen in the web series Crime Next Door, which streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, alongside actors like Anupriya Goenka, Yashpal Sharma, Sahil Vaid and Vatsal Sheth.Apart from acting, she had also worked as a news anchor and featured as the lead in several Rajasthani music videos. More recently, she had been actively pursuing modelling.

A background rooted in arts and performance

Hailing from Jaipur, Harshil had developed a passion for performing arts at a young age. She was actively involved in cultural activities during her school years and was appointed Head of the Cultural Society between classes 10 and 12.She later trained in Kathak at Bhatkhande University, completing her graduation in the classical dance form in 2011.Harshil was also recognised in the pageant circuit, finishing as the first runner-up at Miss Diva Rajasthan 2021 and Miss Pink City.Harshil’s father is associated with journalism and works for a private newspaper. Her untimely demise has left family, friends and colleagues in shock, cutting short a career that was steadily on the rise.
