Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday renewed his appeal to students and job aspirants to join the Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign by signing an online petition focused on issues such as paper leaks, examination irregularities, rising education costs and unemployment.Earlier in the day, Gandhi shared the petition link on social media and invited students to contribute their suggestions. The petition forms part of the broader ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ (Voice of Students) campaign, which seeks to bring student concerns directly before the government. “If you’ve suffered because of paper leaks, exam issues, or high fees, if this education system has shattered your dreams, if your family has invested a lifetime of savings in your education, then ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ is your voice,” Gandhi wrote. He also urged students to participate by following three simple steps: “Click the link below, fill in your name and share your ideas, sign the petition — that’s it.”Gandhi added that every signature would strengthen the movement, saying, “The more the signatures, the louder the ‘goonj’.”Shares Kota rally video, calls it the beginning of a larger movementHours later, Gandhi shared a video from the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ rally held in Kota, Rajasthan.”Kota, you were incredible. Believe me, yesterday we together began the start of history,” Gandhi wrote. “Thousands of students were in the field, millions watched online — and for the first time, the country openly learned how massive the extortion has been in the name of education.”Calling the Kota event only the beginning, Gandhi said the movement now needed to expand across the country. “The flame that has been lit in Kota now needs to become the torch of change across the entire country,” he said, before again urging students to send their suggestions and sign the petition.Campaign centred on education and employment concernsAt the Kota rally, Rahul raised concerns over paper leaks, examination cancellations, rising educational costs and unemployment. During the event, he described the current education system as a “rejection system” and argued that it places immense financial and emotional pressure on students and their families.Through the petition and the wider ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign, the Congress leader has sought to gather feedback from students and aspirants affected by issues ranging from paper leaks and recruitment delays to high fees and limited employment opportunities.
