Uttarakhand said on Wednesday it had made services under its Uniform Civil Code (UCC) available in all 22 languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, in addition to English, with applicants also able to use AI-based assistance to understand the process and complete their registration.“The services under Uttarakhand’s Uniform Civil Code (UCC) are available not only in English but also in all 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. In addition, applicants can use AI assistance to understand the UCC process and complete their registration,” the CMO said.According to the CMO, the multilingual platform enables applicants to access information related to UCC rules, procedures and required documents in their preferred language, and submit applications in the same language. AI support is available to guide applicants through the process. The website has been developed by the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) in English and the 22 scheduled languages — Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali and Manipuri.“From the very first day, our government has followed the core principle of moving from simplification to solutions. While implementing the Uniform Civil Code, special emphasis was placed on ensuring that the general public faces no difficulty in the registration process” CM Dhami said, adding that “UCC has emerged as a successful example of technological excellence. This is why, over the past one year, not a single complaint has been received regarding the UCC process”.
