Karnataka: Husband slits wife's throat, drives off; onlookers record video

NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old woman was murdered by her husband, who slit her throat in the middle of a road following a domestic dispute in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district on Thursday, police said. Multiple videos of the same were shared on social media as the onlookers captured the crime. The victim, identified as Saanvi, was a native of Maharashtra. The incident took place near Ballurgi village in Afzalpur taluk, news agency PTI reported.According to police, the accused, Akshay, allegedly brought his wife to the spot in a car, forced her out onto the road and attacked her. She died on the spot.Videos of the incident, recorded by bystanders and circulated on social media, purportedly show the man carrying out the attack in public. He was seen pulling her hair and beating her up mercilessly.The accused fled the scene in the same vehicle.A case of murder has been registered at Afzalpur police station, and a manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest the accused, officials said.
