NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with government secretaries at Seva Teerth and reviewed key governance priorities, with discussions focusing on deregulation and reforms to improve ‘ease of doing business’ and ‘ease of living’, and promote ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance). During the interaction, the prime minister called for greater use of the PM GatiShakti platform as an effective tool for inter-departmental coordination and integrated planning. He also urged senior officials to focus on the tangible impact of government schemes on people’s lives.The discussions centred on two key themes: “deregulation and other reforms for ease of doing business and ease of living” and “promoting Aatmanirbharta”.The secretaries highlighted the ongoing efforts of their respective ministries and departments to translate the prime minister’s vision into actionable outcomes. They also discussed sector-specific challenges and outlined future strategies aimed at improving governance and enhancing service delivery.PM Modi stressed the importance of adopting a whole-of-government approach and breaking departmental silos to ensure better coordination and more effective implementation of policies. Further emphasising the need for integrated planning and collaboration, he called for wider utilisation of the PM GatiShakti platform as a key tool for inter-departmental coordination and informed decision-making.PM Modi also urged the secretaries to focus on the tangible impact of government schemes on people’s lives. According to PTI, the officials made detailed presentations on the functioning of their ministries, highlighting the progress achieved in various reform measures and citizen-centric initiatives.The prime minister has already set the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, when the country marks 100 years of Independence. He has also outlined the government’s reform priorities for the next decade, asserting that the government’s “Reform Express” has delivered systemic transformation and significantly benefited citizens.The meeting of the secretaries was held around a month after a meeting of the union council of ministers, during which PM Modi had said that the government would leave no stone unturned to further improve the ease of living, ease of doing business, and create greater opportunities for the country’s youth.
