Detained AAP MLA’s plea listed for final hearing on Dec 18

AAP MLA Mehraj Malik

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has listed a habeas corpus petition filed by detained AAP MLA Mehraj Malik for final consideration on Dec 18.Malik, who is AAP’s J&K unit president, was detained under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) on Sept 8 for allegedly disturbing public order and was lodged in Kathua jail. On Sept 24, Malik filed a habeas corpus petition, challenging his detention and claiming Rs 5 crore as compensation.During the last hearing on Nov 20, the HC had said it would hear the plea on Dec 4, which has now been deferred to Dec 18.
