Woman indicted on kissing BTS’s eldest member Jin has issued objections only to dates before the trial has to go through the paperwork themselves.

In 2024, a fan approached BTS Jin for a ‘free hug’ event. However, things turned sideways when they ended up kissing him on the cheek forcefully. Now, as per the latest reports, Ms A, who has not been officially identified, has been indicted for charges of forcible indecent act, without detention. However, the Japanese resident is currently objecting to the trial schedule, which has been set up by the authorities.

According to a report from Star News Korea, the Japanese woman, who was charged for her actions last year in November, has submitted an official objection ahead of the trial dates. She has raised objections about the dates of the trial through her legal counsel.As per the earlier plan, the Seoul Eastern District Court’s Criminal Division 9 had been planning on holding two trial dates for the woman’s indictment in July this year, after she was charged in November last year. Now, there may be reportedly some changes after the woman has submitted an official notice of objection and reservation of rights. There have been no updates about whether there will be any changes in the official dates or not as of right now.

More about the incident that happened with Jin in 2024

The incident took place on June 13, 2024, at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa District, Seoul. BTS’s eldest member Jin had been holding a ‘free hug’ event, which was attended by 100 selected fans. During one of the segments of the show, when Ms A had the chance to go up to Jin to hug him, she also ended up kissing him on the cheek. Photos and videos of the incident had gone viral at the time, with many people condemning the woman for acting in an indecent manner and making the idol uncomfortable.A complaint and request for investigation into the matter was filed by many netizens and fans of the idol on Korea’s National Petition Portal. A case was officially filed and was handed over to the Songpa Police Station in Seoul for further investigation. Following the incident, the person had also posted about it on her social media account at the time. Her post had read, “My lips touched Jin’s neck. His skin was very soft.”Since then, she has appeared for question for the case, which was transferred to prosecutors for further action. Ms A has maintained that she was not aware that this action could count as a criminal offence.
