Why does ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ have 3 asterisks?

‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’: Why does the title have three asterisks? Bobby Deol, Lakshya and Raghav Juyal explain

Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is stepping into Bollywood with his directorial debut ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. Although it has already become one of the most talked-about projects of the year, what has really sparked curiosity is the title itself, especially the three asterisks placed right in the middle of the word ‘Ba***ds’So, what do they mean? Bobby Deol, Lakshya and Raghav Juyal have finally shared their take on the unusual title.

Bobby Deol links the title to story

In a chat with Radio Nasha, Bobby Deol explained that the idea of the asterisks is linked to the way the show has been created. He said, “It is its concept, it is the way the show is written. When you watch the show, then when you look at the title and you will understand.”The ‘Animal’ actor recalled how people reacted to his 1997 film ‘Gupt’ starring. He said, “I remember when I did the film Gupt, people did not understand the title of the film, but then Kajol turned out to be the murderer, so then they understood why we named it Gupt.”

Lakshya explains why the title was difficult

Lakshya revealed that for a long time the show didn’t even have a title. He shared, “The type of show that it is, it’s very difficult to describe in one word. When you see the show, then you will find the meaning of ‘Ba***ds’ because you cannot define the show in one word or one line, because it is a vast, unique world that Aryan has set. Just like its story, the title is also very unique, and it catches attention. People will remember it. ”

Raghav Juyal calls asterisks aesthetic

Raghav Juyal offered a much simpler take on why the asterisks exist. He said, “They had to fit ‘Bads’ with ‘Bollywood,’ and that’s why they have put asterisk in it. It was for aesthetic reason.”

Manoj Pahwa reveals he got to know the title much later

Interestingly, Manoj Pahwa admitted that, “They didn’t even tell me the title of the show, and when the title of the show was revealed at that time, I got to know about it.”

Apart from Bobby Deol, Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, the show also stars Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Rajat Bedi and Gautami Kapoor.
