‘The Housemaid’ trailer: All you need to know

'The Housemaid' trailer: Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney take over the psychological madhouse; release date revealed

‘The Housemaid,’ starring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney, had its first trailer released, begging the audience to question ‘Who’s the real monster?’ Masking the secrets under the smiles, the film is an adaptation of the 2022 psychological thriller by Freida McFadden that dived deep into the attic and the whispers behind the wall.

About ‘The Housemaid’

The film revolves around a woman with a horrific past who takes a role as a live-in housemaid at the Winchester family residence. After accepting the job, the housemaid realises the wealthy couple is keeping secrets that are far more dangerous than her own. In the middle of tragedy, trauma, and a tumultuous journey lies the story of the monster that lived within. The housemaid, Millie, is played by none other than Sydney Sweeney, and she works for a family, Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar), along with the house’s groundskeeper, Enzo, who is played by the ‘365 Days’ star, Michael Morrone. Directed by Paul Feig, ‘The Housemaid’ will be released on December 19, 2025.

Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney are excited for the audience to watch the film

Seyfried said the film has everything that fans adored about the book – the secrets, the tension, and the twists, while Sweeney added that she can’t wait for the audiences to watch the film and look at all the work they did to bring the book to life, during People’s recent first look at the movie. For the ‘Christy’ star, Millie is exactly the character she likes to play, as she’s “complex, strong, and with a little something up her sleeve. ”

Paul Feig is happy with the outcome

Meanwhile, Paul Feig said, “They are both up for anything, and we had so much fun playing with all the twists and turns that the story takes these characters through,” adding that the actresses slipped into the characters effortlessly, and they couldn’t have had a better time making the film.
