When Vinod Khanna allegedly lost control, didn’t stop kissing Dimple

When Vinod Khanna allegedly lost control, didn't stop kissing Dimple Kapadia even after Mahesh Bhatt said 'cut', leaving her shocked

Actor Vinod Khanna stepped away from films at the height of his stardom to follow spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh. After spending nearly five years away from cinema, he eventually returned to the industry, drawing immense attention from fans and filmmakers eager to see him back on screen.Following his comeback, Khanna began working on Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Prem Dharm’, where he was paired opposite Dimple Kapadia. During the making of the film, reports from that period suggested an uncomfortable incident took place while filming an intimate sequence between the two actors.According to old reports, the scene required Vinod and Dimple to embrace and kiss. It was claimed that even after director Mahesh Bhatt called for the shot to end, Vinod allegedly continued the scene longer than required. Reports published over the years, including an article by Bollywood Shaadis, stated that Bhatt later decided to shoot another take with a longer duration and shifted his position along with the crew to capture the moment differently. As per those accounts, Vinod allegedly did not stop despite Bhatt saying “cut,” with some reports suggesting he either failed to hear the director’s instruction or became too immersed in the performance. Crew members, along with Bhatt, reportedly intervened to end the scene. The incident allegedly left Dimple Kapadia shaken, and reports claim she immediately headed to her make-up room afterward. It was further reported that Bhatt later advised Vinod to speak to Dimple, explain the situation and apologise. Some accounts also suggested Vinod admitted he had lost control during the scene, having returned to filming intimate sequences after a long gap.Mahesh Bhatt is also believed to have had a private discussion with Vinod after the incident to understand what had happened. Over time, differing versions of the story emerged, with some reports maintaining that the actor had simply not heard the director’s instruction properly, while others suggested he became carried away while performing. The episode gained additional attention because it came shortly after Vinod Khanna’s return to films following his spiritual journey with Rajneesh, popularly known as Osho. His decision to leave the film industry at the peak of his career had once stunned Bollywood, making his eventual comeback a major moment of public and industry interest.
